WWE SmackDown Live Results – November 20, 2018

03:04am

The majority of that match was basically just Randy Orton trying to unmask Mysterio. Well, the parts that weren’t commercials, that is.

Mysterio did fight back and hit a 619, but the ‘Viper’ rolled out the ring, and hit a great RKO on a sliding-out-the-ring Mysterio. After throwing Rey back in the ring, Orton nailed another RKO for the win.

After the match, he attacked Rey with a chair, and unmasked the luchador to close out the show.

I hate being negative, because wrestling is to be enjoyed. But I’m also not a liar. That show was garbage and a colossal waste of time.

Here’s a cool RKO, though:

02:43am

Daniel Bryan cuts a great promo about how despite fans giving up on him, he never gave up on his dreams, and that his dreams took over and carried him to success – i.e. low blowing AJ Styles last week to win the WWE Championship.

He says that Brock Lesnar beat the weakness out of him at Survivor Series, and now the Daniel Bryan of old is dead, the “Yes! Movement” is dead, and tells Greg Hamilton to announce him as “The New Daniel Bryan”.

I like this new Daniel Bryan. He is great.

02:34am

Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring, and it is confirmed that AJ Styles will invoke his rematch clause for the WWE Championship at TLC on December 16.

Bryan will now explain his actions from last week.

02:25am

Asuka and Naomi defeat Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

This show has been dreadful.

02:09am

I’m getting really bored of these.

Big E hit Sheamus in the face with a turkey and won.

Other food related stuff happened because this is all New Day do nowadays.

02:00am

New Day come to the ring, and because it’s Thanksgiving, list off what they are thankful for.

As well as Xavier Woods’ 2TB hard drive, and the turkey breast that was in front of them (because breasts are funny), the main thing was SmackDown Live‘s sole Survivor Series win – which was the 10 vs. 10 elimination match on the pre-show that was overlooked in the overall score.

Nonetheless, they are cut off by Big Show and the Bar, who say the only reason they lost their match on Sunday was because Drake Maverick pissed himself and if they don’t stop soon with the piss jokes I am going to be very pissed off indeed. HAHAHAHA DO YOU GET IT BECAUSE PISS AHAHAHA!!!!?!?!?!

New Day vs. Big Show and the Bar in a food-related Thanksgiving gimmick match up next.

01:49am

Well… Miz and Shane lost.

Miz was, of course, dominating the match, and wanted Shane to tag in and get the pin.

However, because they took so long faffing about, their opponent was actually able to recover and pin Miz with a roll-up.

01:44am

Miz gets a hometown hero reception from the crowd, and seems very proud to introduce the BEST IN THE WORLD to his esteemed talk show.

Shane can’t shuffle because he’s actually selling his injuries – unlike some people. So, Miz did if for him. It was dreadful.

Because Miz and Shane won the World Cup together and are joint BEST IN THE WORLD – in Miz’s mind at least – Miz asks Shane to be his tag team partner.

Despite Shane not actually agreeing, Miz has already organized a match for the pair against local competitors… and it’s happening right now!

01:35am

Why zoom in that much? It’s just creepy.

Anyway, a massive match has been announced for later tonight – Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio.

Up next, it’s Miz TV with the BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD Shane McMahon, in which they will discuss SmackDown‘s collapse at Survivor Series.

He’s staring into your soul.

01:30am

Billie Kay attacks Charlotte mid-match to force a DQ, and Charlotte convincingly beats them down at ringside.

So I guess she’s a babyface now or?

01:22am

Despite interference from Peyton Royce, Flair picks up the win over Billie Kay with the Natural Selection.

And then, she challenges Peyton to a match, Peyton looks to be obliging, but then retreats and we go to commercial.

It’s going to be a “Paige sanctioned the match during the break” situation I feel.

01:13am

Flair brags about her Rousey beatdown, and says that she did it for Becky Lynch… because that makes sense!

Then Paige comes out, and fines Charlotte $100,000 for attacking five referees on Sunday.

And now the IIconics are here for some reason. They make fun of Charlotte for being blonde and getting fined, and up next the first match of the night will be Charlotte vs. either Peyton Royce or Billie Kay.

I wonder who’s going to win this one…

01:07am

SmackDown Live opens with highlights of Charlotte Flair’s heel turn and assault on Ronda Rousey this past Sunday at Survivor Series,

Flair attacked Ronda with a kendo stick and got DQ’ed, and then attacked her with a steel chair, even stomping one on the Raw Women’s Champion’s throat.

What will Charlotte have to say about her actions?

Well, she seems rather happy with herself, that’s for sure.

I bet Fox are chuffed.

This past Sunday at Survivor SeriesRaw defeated SmackDown Live in every single match on the card (excluding Murphy vs. Ali), ending the night with an overall 6-0 deficit.

Sort of.

Xavier makes a good point, and the head of the newly founded ‘#ItWas6-1JusticeForTagTeams’ support group (that I definitely didn’t just make up) will indeed be in action with his New Day teammates tonight. And because WWE are trying to make amends in the tag team division, they will face the Bar and Big Show in a… Thanksgiving Feast Fight. At least it’s not piss, I suppose.

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan had a brilliant match against Brock Lesnar on Sunday, but it would have been a whole lot better and made a lot more sense had he not turned heel to defeat AJ Styles for the title last week.

Bryan is being promoted to appear on SmackDown tonight, and will explain his actions seven days ago, whereby he delivered a low blow to AJ Styles (the poor, poor bloke) to gain an unfair advantage in their title bout, and then continued to attack him after already winning the match. Remember, AJ does have a rematch clause to activate, so perhaps we’ll get an announcement regarding that tonight, potentially confirming a match between the two at December’s TLC pay-per-view.

Speaking of heel turns and post-match assaults, Charlotte Flair did exactly that during and after her encounter with Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. Flair – who of course subbed in for a broken-faced Becky Lynch – attacked Rousey with a kendo stick to get herself DQ’ed, and then stomped Ronda’s throat with a steel chair, which isn’t very nice is it, really. The crowd of course cheered for Charlotte, because of course they did.

It will be interesting to see how things continue to develop between Flair, Becky and the rest of the women’s division. Probably R-Truth vs. Sonya Deville or something.

And, of course, we can’t forget the BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD, Shane McMahon, and his SmackDown men’s team, who were dominated by the red brand in the 5 vs. 5 elimination match. Shane was, of course, the last man remaining and was eliminated by Braun Strowman, but another interesting takeaway were the rather babyface antics of The Miz. Miz will host Miz TV with Shane as his guest tonight, in a segment dubbed ‘State of the State’.

How will SmackDown‘s authority figures react to Sunday’s trouncing? Will The Miz continue but be somewhat of a good-guy? Will Byron Saxton conveniently forget to turn up much to the disappointment of absolutely nobody? All these questions, and more, will likely be answered tonight.
