RK-Mc-Bro

Riddle, Orton, and McIntyre all take turns making statements that the others acknowledge. They do this by repeating the word acknowledge. The next to last one was Drew saying they were going to make a JOINT decision. Orton and Riddle particularly liked that one.

McIntyre then called Roman a piece of crap. That brought out The Bloodline. They are supposed to go face to face, but Roman stopped at the top of the walkway. Roman throws the mic and just heads to the ring instead.

The 6 men square off and then start to brawl. After the brawl, RK-Bro hit RKOs. Drew kicks Roman with a Claymore. That’s how the show went off the air.

I’m not sure I’m more excited for the Backlash show this weekend because of this episode. If WWE had to get me to shell out $50 to buy it, I don’t know that I would. But, for $10, I’ll watch.

See you Sunday!

Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura is facing off with Sami Zayn. Nakamura is upset about getting attacked by Roman and for Sami Zayn tattling on him. Zayn comes out annoyed because McAfee dances when Nakamura comes out.

The match between these two is solid, but it is a match we’ve seen a few times before. They did a little bit to build this one, but it isn’t really leading to anything on Sunday. So, I’m not sure that it is the most interesting thing they could be doing on their build to Backlash.

Sami Zayn gets the win by count-out. Both men were outside. Sami was running from Nakamura but managed to hit a Helluva Kick to the face. He snuck back in the ring and got the win. The match was picking up. Nakamura came close to a win after a knee to the back of the head. He also tried to lock in an armbar. In the end, Sami was able to weasel his way to a victory.

More Lacey Evans story

Before Lacey talks, Sami Zayn is with Adam Pearce. He talks his way into Pearce booking him in a match with Nakamura.

Lacey Evans tells part 5 of her story. She talks about her dad overdosing. She talks about another person in her family trying to commit suicide. Another family member overdosed on the night of her first NXT match. She wants to know what the women in WWE can do to her that hasn’t already been done.

Lacey Evans promises she’s going to become the next SmackDown women’s champion. Samantha Irvin introduces her to the live crowd. She says the crowd should show her the proper respect she deserves that was almost heel for the introduction. If not heel, certainly weird.

We also get a video package for Raquel Rodriguez.

Where's Butch?

Sheamus and Holland are wrestling against The New Day in a tables match. Apparently, Dunne is so mad about being called Butch that he decided to run away.

Before the match, we get two promos. One from Shinsuke Nakamura who reminded us that he was left lying in the ring by The Bloodline a few weeks ago. He promises he hasn’t forgotten. Sami Zayn was in the background. We also get Drew McIntyre who promises to kick Reigns’s head off in a preview of Sunday.

The tables match is a good one early on. We had several near calls, but each time people were able to avoid going into the table. At one point, Sheamus was leaning up against a barricade, Kofi jumps off the top rope and hits a cross body onto Sheamus sending both men through the barricade. That looked like it sucked for both men to take, but it was fun to watch.

Butch is back. Just when you think Woods is about to put Sheamus through the announcer’s table, Butch appears from under the ring. The distraction allows for Sheamus and Holland get the win. They ultimately put Woods through a table with a double chokeslam.

The match was pretty good. There were some pretty good moments. Sheamus dropped Kofi on the apron. Holland and Sheamus did dueling forearms to the chest. Woods and Kofi had some nice dives. The finish was pretty lame though.

After the match, Sami Zayn approaches Paul Heyman. He lets him know Shinsuke was talking crap. Zayn says he’ll handle Nakamura. Heyman says Roman appreciates Sami’s initiative.

Gulak vs. a mystery opponent

Drew Gulak is taking on a mystery opponent. Before he wrestles, we get a video package from the past couple of weeks where Drew has been beaten up by Rousey and Flair. Something tells me he’s about to get beaten up by Rousey, again.

Oh crap, it’s much worse. He’s facing Gunther. Poor Drew.

Holy cow. Gunther is destroying Gulak with massive chop after massive chop. When he doesn’t hit chops, he kicks him square in the face. He ultimately puts him in a sleeper and then a powerbomb. That was impressive. Pat McAfee puts him over big time on commentary. Marcel Barthel is there as his personal ring announcer. He deserves more than just standing and talking.

It's Happy Time

Happy Corbin makes his way down to the ring for Happy Talk. Prior to the segment, we get a promo from RK-Bro. This was in response to an Usos promo earlier.

Happy Corbin talks about how he’s so happy about what he’s going to do to Madcap Moss on Sunday. Madcap Moss interrupts him on the video board. He says no one wants to listen to Corbin talk. They want to hear him tell jokes. He then tells some pretty lame insulting jokes about Corbin’s outfit and tattoos.

Corbin challenges him to come down to the ring to tell the jokes to his face. He does. He turns his insults to Corbin being bald. He gets the crowd to chant Big Bald Wolf. Watching this makes me wonder about my sanity.

Shayna Baszler and Sasha Banks

Ahead of the Women’s Tag Team Title Match at Backlash, Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler are squaring off. Banks comes out to a hot start. Nattie gets involved and allows Baszler to hit a nice-looking suplex. We’re off to a commercial break.

After the break, Baszler rolls up Banks and grabs the rope. She’s able to get the pin with Nattie’s help. After the match, they all start fighting. It looks like Baszler and Nattie will get the upper hand but Naomi is able to kick Baszler in the head in spite of having an injured arm. This prevented Shayna from hitting the Future Endeavor Arm Stomp on Sasha. Naomi and Sasha are able to hit a double team on Natalya and the challengers run for cover.

Charlotte Flair and Aliyah

Charlotte is here and it appears she’ll be wrestling Aliyah. Prior to the match, Charlotte runs down Aliyah, Rousey, and Drew Gulak. Flair levels Aliyah with a forearm and then beats her down.

Rousey runs down to the ring and the two fight on the floor. Rousey sends Flair into the ring post. Flair gets back by throwing Ronda into the barricade.

They continue to brawl until security has to come down. They can’t even get them separated. As far as brawls go, this one was pretty good. I have to say this is way better than having them talk again. They came at it with great intensity. This is the first time in this one where it felt like they really don’t like each other.
