Logan Paul has issued a statement to WWE stars have who problems with his position and standing in the company.
Ever since Paul joined WWE, there’s been a debate on whether talents who have been in the wrestling business longer should be afforded the opportunity to be involved in big matches as opposed to newcomer Paul.
However, the counter argument is that Paul is a draw on social media and beyond, and gets millions of eyes on the product that wouldn’t otherwise see social media clips and videos if he wasn’t in them.
Karrion Kross in particular recently said he wishes there wasn’t a reliance from WWE on using outsiders to go viral, as he believes WWE’s full-time talents are capable of doing the same if given the chance.
In his latest vlog, Paul responded to these claims and explained why he’s in the position he’s in. He said:
“It’s my understanding that some of my peers are not happy that I get these shots so quickly in my career. Let me break it down for you.
“In your simple brains, do you think I’m here because I go viral? You see the numbers and you think that’s why I’m here. No. The reason that I’m here, the reason that I’m given these opportunities so early in my career is a) because I’m fantastic, but b) because I’ve been getting those impressions for a decade now.
“And with those impressions comes an audience, a fanbase, eyeballs. That’s why I’m here. Because people watch what I do. They care what I do.
“Whether they’re on my team, they want me to win, whether they’re waiting for me to fail – doesn’t matter, they’re watching, and that’s the currency: Attention.
“So my question would be, for the people who have a problem with my position in the WWE – who’s watching you?”
