Lola Vice has addressed the threat that Kendal Grey poses to her recently won WWE NXT Women’s Championship.
On April 4, at NXT Stand and Deliver, Jacy Jayne failed to retain the Women’s Championship, losing to Lola Vice in a Triple Threat match that also featured Kendal Grey.
With a rematch against Jayne set for NXT Revenge next week, the presence of Grey still plays into championship proceedings.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Vice assessed the challenge posed by Grey, after being asked if she was the “biggest threat” aside from Jayne, stating:
“I wouldn’t say threat, but challenge, yes. She’s really good.”

Grey isn’t a stranger to title success, being a former WWE Evolve Women’s Champion from October 15 last year until she announced that she was relinquishing it to join the NXT roster on the March 11 episode of the Tubi show.
The Championship Picture In NXT
Nine championships are defended in NXT, with one also being contested on the main roster in the form of the WWE Women’s Tag Team title, currently held by The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend).
Of the eight remaining, only three are contested by members of the NXT women’s roster: the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, NXT Women’s North American Championship, and the NXT Women’s Championship. That said, it isn’t uncommon for stars from AAA and TNA Wrestling to find their way into title feuds.
In addition to Vice as NXT Women’s Champion, Kendal Grey’s WrenQCC teammate, Wren Sinclair, is the current WWE Women’s Speed Champion, while Tatum Paxley holds the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
The Tuesday night show previously had its own NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship until it was unified with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in June 2023, hence the current cross-brand defense situation.
At the time of writing, Jax and Legend are yet to defend the title on NXT, having defeated RHIYO (IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley) to become champions on the February 27 episode of WWE SmackDown. In fact, the title hasn’t seen a defense on NXT since Homecoming in September of last year, with Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair retaining over The Culling’s Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley
The women’s roster in NXT, including Evolve, isn’t short of women’s tag teams, yet it seems that a championship opportunity isn’t at the forefront of thinking on the brand, which could be seen as a missed creative opportunity. After all, a championship gives stars something to work towards; a reason to rise to the top and a title to both fight for and over.
Maybe it’s time for The Irrestitible Forces to grace NXT with their presence.
