Almost one year ago during the 2018 Mae Young Classic, NXT’s Welsh starlet Tegan Nox suffered a devastating double leg injury which was described as her knee “exploding”.
The injury took place early into Nox’s quarter final outing against Rhea Ripley, a bout she was supposed to win. Nox was supposedly set to go all the way in the tournament until the injury forced her out of the competition.
Nox detailed the injury several months later, explaining that she had suffered a dislocated knee cap, torn MCL and LCL, torn ACL, torn meniscus in both knees, bone contusions and a second fracture in her left tibia.
The timing of the injury was especially cruel as Nox had only just returned from a torn ACL in her right knee that had caused her to miss the 2017 Mae Young Classic.
Remarkably, Nox has been able to overcome the injuries again, making her in-ring comeback last night on an NXT house show in Orlando.
Nox was eased back into action, teaming with Jessi Kamea to defeat Aliyah and Vanessa Borne.
Nox picked up the win for her team, hitting the ring for a hot tag and hitting a cannon ball in the corner, a crossbody from the top and a fireman’s carry into a stunner on Borne for the win.
Nox is expected to be brought back to NXT television following NXT Toronto. Fingers crossed for her that her knees hold up.
