Penta Shares WWE Lucha Brothers Reunion Update

WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta has shared an update on the possibility of a Lucha Brothers reunion with his brother Fenix.

2025 saw Penta join WWE Raw in January, with Rey Fenix following suit in March of that year as a member of the SmackDown roster.

Kept apart on their respective brands, Penta has now shared an update the possibility of reuniting with his brother.

Speaking to the Dallas Morning News, the WWE Intercontinental Champion stated he knows it will happen, just not when, explaining:

“Definitely, definitely. I expect that. Because I know in my heart, at some point, the Lucha Bros will come together again.

“When? I don’t know exactly, but for now, I’ll enjoy this kind of season in my life, in my career, in singles.

“My brother, too. Now he is champion, I am champion. Now we’ve started building in different ways. … But the most important thing is, I promise you, at some point the Lucha Bros will be back.”

The Lucha Brothers last competed together on the July 19 2024, episode of AEW Rampage, defeating Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen).

Real-life brothers, it’s odd that WWE has opted not to cement that relationship on television, keeping both stars on separate brands since their respective signings.

The Usos and The Creed Brothers continue a legacy of family members as teams, with The Hardy Boyz being among those to have paved a path that saw Dustin & Cody Rhodes and Bo Dallas & Bray Wyatt compete.

With WWE continuing to seek a lucha star to follow the legendary Rey Mysterio, it seems wise that Penta and Rey Fenix would be able to establish themselves as singles stars to the fanbase.

For Fenix, a WWE main roster championship is yet to find his way into his hands, although he is the current World Cruiserweight Champion over in AAA, adding to quite a legacy when it comes to titles in the Mexico-based promotion, including two-time run as World Tag Team Champion with Penta.

Penta is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, having defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the title on the March 2 episode of Raw this year.

Both stars have a history in AAA, and the potential of reuniting them over there stands out as an interesting course that could still keep them separate on WWE television until the time is right to bring them back together.
