The main event is now set for WWE’s next pay per view event, WrestleMania Backlash. After competing in a Triple Threat number one contender’s match, Drew McIntyre will once again face Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.
Earlier on Raw, McIntyre, Randy Orton and Braun Strowman all made their case for why they should face the WWE Champion. A match was scheduled between the three with McIntyre coming out on top.
McIntyre had competed for the WWE Championship on WrestleMania Night One. He was unsuccessful as a distraction from MVP led to McIntyre passing out in the Hurt Lock. Now he will have another chance to reclaim the WWE title.
This is the first match announced for WrestleMania Backlash. The event is currently scheduled to take place on May 16, 2021.
The Raw After WrestleMania also featured the returns of Charlotte Flair, Maryse, and Ivar of the Viking Raiders.
