WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is currently a free agent after his contract with WWE expired at the beginning of 2023.
There has been a lot of speculation about his future in wrestling, with some fans speculation that he could be a part of AEW All In in Wembley Stadium in August.
Goldberg spoke about what he has planned for his wrestling future, which included a potential retirement match in Israel, and it seems like Goldberg is in discussions for such a match.
Long-time promotor Rick Bassman recently told Haus of Wrestling that he has been in contact with Goldberg for a match in Jerusalem in September.
Not only that, but the show could potentially also involve WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW star Sting!
Bassman said:
“First of all, I’m actively in touch with Bill, I’m working on a date right now. I don’t promote much these days but every now and then, something fun comes up, and it’s worth diving into.
“So working on a date in Jerusalem, Israel for September of this year. And that would involve, potentially, both Goldberg and Sting. And then on the whole ladder, you have the AEW clearance issues, of course. So that’s something that I really hope to put together.”
Bassman continued on, noting that he has been in contact with Goldberg’s agent for a potential tour or event, but noted that he wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in WWE.
He added:
“Now, only because I’ve been in touch actively with Bill, and then also with his agent, Barry Bloom, who is a longtime good friend. They are working on exactly what you described.
“But to my knowledge, it still needs to all be nailed down. That said, I would not be surprised to see Bill end up back in WWE for something massive.”
Sting himself has spoken about a potential retirement later this year, with his AEW contract set to expire in the Fall.
