Last night during AEW: Dynamite, tag team partners and brothers Penta El O Zero M and Rey Fenix collided in the ring for the chance to progress to the semi-finals of the Number One Contenders tournament.
Rey Fenix walked out of the match with the win after a brilliant match-up, but it appears that he may also be leaving Dynamite with an injury following a botched spot during the match with his brother.
During the match, Rey Fenix landed on his head following a springboard maneuver. He was able to finish the match and pick up the win, but his condition is currently unclear. WrestleTalk.com will provide any updates to this story as they emerge.
At this time, it’s unclear whether or not Rey Fenix is going to be able to continue to compete in the tournament. He is set to face Kenny Omega in the semi-finals next week, but that match may now be in doubt.
Unfortunately, Fenix wasn’t the only AEW star hurt during Dynamite. One AEW star was knocked out during his match last night. You can read more about that story and his condition by clicking here.
If Rey Fenix is unable to compete in the tournament, who would you have replace him in his match with Kenny Omega next week? Be sure to let us know on Twitter.
