It’s being reported that a major star in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is legitimately injured ahead of a big match at Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view.
As reported by Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Matt Jackson legitimately has a partially torn MCL and a thinning ACL.
The injuries were reportedly suffered during the falls count anywhere match with Young Bucks vs The Butcher & The Blade which was way back in July.
The idea that Jackson is injured is actually playing a part into the storyline and build ahead of FTR vs the Bucks on Saturday, with the champions targeting his leg and ankle.
Therefore, there shouldn’t be any need to worry about the match being cancelled or anything like that. It seems Jackson will continue to power through.
There’s a stipulation to the match whereby if the Bucks lose they’ll never get another shot at the World Tag Team Championship, so the injury or some kind of shenanigans could come into play. FTR’s manager Tully Blanchard has been banned from ringside too.
