On his Saturday Night Special live stream, former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho opened up about the reported animosity between himself and WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg.
When asked about his relationship with Goldberg, Jericho noted that the pair actually had a good friendship before they were “pitted against each other” when they both worked for WCW:
“Bill and I had a lot of animosity over the years just because, they kind of pitted us against each other in WCW and it is what it is. No problems, No issues now. Actually, Bill and I have a very good rapport. We get along great in WCW before we got pitted us against each other. Went to hockey games with each other. Nothing but love for Bill.”
Goldberg has revealed that he is still under contract with WWE, and will wrestle a minimum of four more matches for the promotion over the next two years. This means it’s quite unlikely that we’ll ever see Goldberg and Jericho cross paths on TV again.
Interestingly, Jim Cornette recently said on his podcast that Tony Khan wanted Goldberg to sign for AEW. Cornette even noted that he was told Khan wanted Goldberg to recreate his WCW winning streak for his promotion.
