A major AEW championship change took place on tonight’s AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Toronto, Canada.
‘Timeless’ Toni Storm regained her AEW Women’s World Championship from Mariah May back at the Grand Slam Australia show in February, marking her fourth reign with the title.
Toni has taken on all challengers during her reign, including defeating Mariah in the Hollywood Ending at Revolution, and Mercedes Mone at All In Texas.
However, tonight Toni faced off challenges from three other women, with her defending the title against Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter and Thekla in a four-way match.
The match ended with Statlander scoring the pinfall victory over Toni Storm with Wheeler Yuta’s pinfall, ending Toni’s reign and capturing the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time in her career.
Statlander’s victory and championship win makes her the first woman in AEW history to hold both the TBS Championship and Women’s World Championship.
