A major championship change took place to close out tonight’s episode of WWE NXT following Battleground last weekend.
Tonight’s WWE NXT show was the first show following the Battleground premium live event in Tampa on Sunday, and it was definitely an eventful episode.
The show kicked off with an NXT North American Championship match, which saw Ethan Page defeat Ricky Saints to become the new North American Champion.
The main event of the show saw Stephanie Vaquer defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Jacy Jayne after Jacy got in the face of Stephanie backstage at Battleground.
During the match, AAA stars Dalys and Chik Tormenta appeared to distract Stephanie, before Lola Vice made the save, chasing them off.
Tensions between Fatal Influence seemed to escalate when both Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne shoved Jazmyn Nyx, which led to a distraction.
As Jazmyn Nyx distracted the referee, Fallon would then get involved in the match, hitting Stephanie with a feint kick around the ring post, allowing Jacy to score the victory and become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
SHOCKED. STUNNED. SPEECHLESS.
