Last night, news broke that several people within WWE including backstage staff, production and even in-ring talent have now tested positive for COVID-19.
This comes after WWE only had its second positive COVID test last week, with the news breaking after last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Last week’s episode of Raw also saw ‘fans’ back in shows. Those in attendance where actually just the friends and family of some of the roster members.
Well it seems like in the wake of several positive COVID tests, WWE is changing their practises as it is being reported that friends and family WILL NOT be in attendance for the WWE TV tapings that are set to take place later this week.
Taking to Twitter, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that the friends and family are not going to be at this week’s TV tapings, following advice from WWE’s medical team.
Friends and family will not be permitted at this week's WWE tapings, per the request of WWE medical. They had been asked to remain isolated ahead of tapings and were to be tested again.

This has been confirmed by PWInsider, who are also reporting that even if Friday’s scheduled taping goes ahead, friends and family won’t be there:
“It should also be noted that WWE had “friends and family” at their last two TV tapings, the second of which was pushed back a day after a positive COVID-19 test came back for a WWE NXT developmental talent who was last at the PC on 6/9. PWInsider.com is told that if Friday’s taping moves forward, there will not be “friends and family” invited.”
Speaking of changes, Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are now going to be testing people for the virus before every taping. While this is the right thing to do, it would have been ideal if this was implemented right from the beginning.
