Major Changes Being Made To Survivor Series

Major Changes Being Made To Survivor Series

Survivor Series is the one night of the year that Raw and SmackDown superstars go head to head in direct competition. You can’t prove otherwise.

However, according to WrestleVotes, a Twitter account with a good track record of leaking backstage gossip, this was very nearly not the case.

It reports that Vince McMahon was not keen on having Roman Reigns face AJ Styles in a Champion vs Champion match, and so the brand vs brand gimmick was going to be scrapped.

However, following Roman Reigns’ tragic Leukaemia announcement, the move was made to one again have SmackDown vs Raw as the show’s theme.

As you can see, the account says that the rumoured Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker match could be in serious jeopardy after Triple H’s Crown Jewel injury. Michaels also seemed to hint that one match was enough in an interview with WWE following his return.

While the SmackDown vs Raw elimination match seems to be the most likely plan, what with the women set to take part in one, Team Angle vs Team Corbin is still an alternative that WWE are looking at.
