With AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II set to take place next month, we should expect to see more NJPW stars appearing on AEW television in the next few weeks.
Fans have been speculating about what top matches top NJPW and AEW stars will be a part of, and we seem to be on the verge of finding one out.
In recent weeks, NJPW have held a tournament to determine the next challenger for Kenny Omega’s IWGP United States Championship, with the latest match taking place at last night’s NJPW Resurgence show.
On the show, Will Ospreay took on Hiroshi Tanahashi in the tournament, with Ospreay picking up the victory in the bout.
Ospreay’s victory earned him a match against Lance Archer at NJPW Dominion next month to determine Omega’s next challenger, likely for Forbidden Door.
