Major Match Announced For NXT Takeover: In Your House

WWE has announced a huge match for the upcoming NXT Takeover: In Your House event. Charlotte Flair will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai in a Triple Threat match.

This will be the first time Ripley will have challenged for the title since losing to Charlotte at WrestleMania.

The match was made a Triple Threat match because of the result of Charlotte’s match with Shirai on NXT. A few weeks ago they battled over the NXT Women’s Championship and Charlotte retained the title via disqualification. This just did not sit right with William Regal, it seems, as he has now included Shirai in this upcoming match.

While Shirai won a number one contender’s Ladder Match to earn her opportunity at the title, Ripley is now getting her rematch as the former champion. Ripley had only been champion for four months when she lost to Charlotte at WrestleMania.

Charlotte has been heavily featured since winning the title, appearing on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.

• NXT Women’s Championship Match – Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Io Shirai
• Tommaso Ciampa vs. Karrion Kross

NXT has also been building towards potential matches between Keith Lee and Johnny Gargano, Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher, and Roderick Strong and Velveteen Dream.
