Major scrapped plans for the upcoming WWE premium live event, Backlash live from Puerto Rico have been revealed.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, there were some past plans for Bad Bunny at the upcoming WWE premium live event that didn’t make the cut.
Per the report, original creative was slated for Bad Bunny to take part in a tag match instead of the singles match he’s now slated for.
The original plans for Backlash would have seen Bad Bunny teaming up with Rey Mysterio to face the Judgment Day team of Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest.
With the finish planned for Bad Bunny pinning Dominik to send the crowd home happy originally slated, we’ll have to see whether or not Benito will be able to best Damian.
The currently scheduled singles match between Damian Priest and Bad Bunny is also reportedly due to the confidence WWE have in Bad Bunny to be able to compete as a singles performer.
The match is being dubbed a ‘San Juan Street Fight’ which means there’ll be no disqualifications, which opens up the chance for the rest of the Judgment Day, as well as the LWO, to get involved.
WWE’s premium live event Backlash is set for this Saturday, May 6 live from San Juan Puerto Rico on Peacock.
The full card for the show is as follows:
