Announced by commentary on SmackDown, there will be “two showcase matches” one men’s and one women’s at WrestleMania 39.

Even more: there would be qualifying matches to determine who would participate and those qualifiers begin right now!

The first match was the pairing of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez versus Emma and Tegan Nox on tonight’s show, which was won by Morgan and Rodriguez.

While the future qualifying matches (nor any of the men’s matches) are unknown, we’ll be sure to keep you up the date with all the developments as they roll out.

However there were rumors earlier regarding what matches may be added, which are said to be a four-way tag match each for the men and the women, you can read more about that by clicking here.

It was also reported that a planned Women’s Tag Team Championship match was off, but Ronda Rousey is still on the card, so she may well be involved in this showcase match instead.

Earlier in tonight’s WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes attempted to broker a truce between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. You can find out how well that worked out by clicking this link.
