It was announced earlier today that Becky Lynch will be making a major announcement on Raw. While it was not known at the time, PWInsider is reporting she will be vacating the Raw Women’s Championship.
Asuka won the Money in the Bank briefcase last night and the report says she will be getting the vacated title. What that means for her contract is not currently clear.
The reason for Lynch vacating the title is being kept private at the moment. She will likely address the reason during her appearance on Raw.
Lynch has been Raw Women’s Champion since WrestleMania 35 when she defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the main event. Since then she has become the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion in the title’s short history.
Lynch last competed at WrestleMania 36 where she defeated Shayna Baszler. She was originally supposed to address the Money in the Bank winner tonight on Raw but that does not appear to be the case now.
Asuka is currently only a one-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and a one-time Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside her Kabuki Warriors tag team partner Kairi Sane.
