At tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing, a heartbreaking loss for a champion as a new champ is crowned in Las Vegas.
After being battered backstage by the Outcasts on AEW Rampage (in the setting of a reportedly legitimate injury for champ Jaymie Hayter) ahead of the match tonight, another mugging.
Putting over the decreased capacity of the AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter, she wasn’t able to make her entrance as she was instead battered to the ring by the other two Outcasts, Saraya and Ruby Soho.
While Hayter bravely soldiered on, agreeing to start the match and still putting up a brave fight, unfortunately the champ could not be saved even with assists from Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Hikaru Shida to chase off the other Outcasts in an attempt to set the match back on track to a one on one bout.
In the end it was Toni Storm who was able to best the champion to gain the pinfall victory and become the new AEW Women’s World Champion.
Elsewhere already on AEW’s pay-per-view AEW Double or Nothing, Orange Cassidy looked to defend the AEW International Championship against 20 other men in the Blackjack Battle Royal.
