A major title change took place on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show, making the second title change of the night.
Tonight’s AEW Dynamite show saw a TNT Championship match earlier in the night, with Kyle Fletcher capturing the TNT Championship from Tommaso Ciampa, beginning his second reign as title.
The main event of tonight’s show was a second title match, with Thekla challenging Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
The match was a strap match, which saw Thekla capture the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time in her career, ending Statlander’s run as champion.
Statlander captured the championship from ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm back at AEW All Out in Toronto back in September.
Tonight’s show also saw the return of former AEW World Tag Team Champions Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy of Private Party, who had been off television for over a year since losing the titles to the Hurt Syndicate back in January.
The AEW Women’s Division is officially TOXIC! @Toxic_Thekla is the NEW AEW Women’s World Champion!
