Major TNA Wrestling Departure

Major TNA Wrestling Departure TNA

A shocking major TNA Wrestling departure has been confirmed following the company’s recent backstage layoffs.

Several TNA departures took place on May 30, with numerous backstage names being laid off from the company.

Per PWInsider, one of those names was one of TNA’s highest ranking officials, that being Lou D’Angeli, the Vice President of Marketing for all of Anthem.

D’Angeli, who had previously headed up WrestleMania AXXESS and other events for WWE, came on the TNA board as a consultant for the company’s live event business in 2022, before he became a full-time VP of Marketing.

D’Angeli’s role for the company grew over the past year, which included him bringing CM Punk to the table for negotiations with the company following his AEW departure, as well as setting the stage for Trinity (Naomi) coming into the company after conversations with Mercedes Mone.

Sources from TNA told PWInsider admitted that there had been some fraying of the relationship in recent months, specifically in regards to the company’s slow process in locking in and confirming their dates and cities for tapings.

Several TNA talents have spoken about D’Angeli’s exit in the past 24 hours, with the response being a mixture of disbelief and sadness, given how much D’Angeli had been an advocate behind the scenes pushing for talents to take on extra roles backstage in the company.

One talent noted that D’Angeli seemed to be trying to set up future roles for talent after they had retired from the ring, and that pretty much all of them felt the company would feel his absence.
