Major Update On New WWE Raw & Smackdown Sets

It was reported back in July of this year that WWE was in the process of manufacturing a new stage/set.

Many fans and critics soon speculated that this new stage would be unveiled ahead of Smackdown’s move to FOX in October.

With Smackdown’s move to FOX now under two weeks away, reliable Twitter source WrestleVotes is reporting that Smackdown’s new set will be unveiled on the blue brand’s debut show on FOX on October 4th.

However, WrestleVotes interestingly notes that the Raw episode on September 30th will also see a brand new stage, giving both shows an “updated, fresh feeling set”.

WrestleVotes then stated that while both Raw and Smackdown will be getting new sets in less than two weeks, the stages will look completely different.

This certainly makes sense, as it has been reported that both Raw and Smackdown will be getting brand new commentary teams next month, with two current 205 Live commentators making-up a two-man booth on Raw.

The fact that WrestleVotes states that the new sets will be “updated” and “fresh” certainly makes it seem as if the iconic fist stage used in Smackdown’s early 2000s will not be returning.

However, some have speculated that WWE could opt to use the same premise of the fist for Smackdown’s new set, but give it a modern twist.

This all comes after NXT got a new stage design this week for the brand’s move to the USA Network.
