There is a major update on Randy Orton’s WWE return.
Since May 2022, Randy Orton has been out of action with a back injury that was considered significant enough for him to miss the rest of the year.
Orton last competed on May 20 edition of WWE SmackDown, losing the Raw Tag Team Championships with Matt Riddle to The Usos.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Randy Orton required a fusion in his lower back that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time.
The surgery has already happened as noted by Orton’s wife posting a picture of him around the operation.
The report notes that some in WWE said they’d be fortunate to have him back “after such a long career and the significance of the injury”.
Despite the injury, Orton did tell some within the company that he would eventually return when he was injured.
We will have further update on Randy Orton’s injury and recovery when they become available.
