During the COVID pandemic, AEW has been running shows from the outdoor Daily’s Place venue. While this is a great venue in good weather, it can certainly pose it problems when nature isn’t exactly co-operating.
This happened last night, with various reliable sources reporting that the promotion was dealing with some issues brought on my the serious weather problems in Florida before Dynamite last night.
Right before the show went on the air last night, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer noted that a storm was going to impact AEW Dynamite last night. He later noted that this is always a risk with outdoor shows:
A storm just showed up in Jacksonville, not Lance, Toni or James but the kind that brings rain.
That’s always the risk.
Fightful Select also reported on some of the measures that AEW was taking to make sure that the awful weather didn’t have too much of an impact on the wrestlers working on Dynamite last night:
Rain came down into the ring at the AEW tapings Wednesday. The ring crew had to dry off the canvas with leaf blowers
