According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Pat McAfee has been pulled from NXT TV following TakeOver WarGames and is not expected to return until around Spring of 2021.
At this time, there is no word on why WWE made the call to remove McAfee from NXT TV, especially considering that fans were very impressed with the in-ring work and promos that Pat had been delivering since debuting this year:
We’re told McAfee will be off TV for a while. It was WWE’s call, not his. No exact time frame was said, but we’re told he was given the impression it’ll be the spring.
What this means for The King of NXT faction remains to be seen, but Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch could just continue teaming together and appearing on-screen as a group without McAfee.
For any potential updates on why the decision was made to remove McAfee from TV and what the plans are for when he does return to TV, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
