Major WWE Star Claims Shaquille O’Neal Could Have Been A Great Wrestler

While speaking with TMZ Sports ahead of last night’s Super Bowl, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre claimed that Shaquille O’Neal would have been a great WWE Superstar if he didn’t have such a successful basketball career.

Drew McIntyre did not spot there, calling Shaquille O’Neal “box office” and even likening him to Andre the Giant, who is one of the most recognisable and famous wrestlers in the history of the industry:

“I have been around Shaq, multiple times, over the years. As we know, Shaq appears everywhere, he’s a very busy man. He keeps himself busy and he’s shown up in WWE a few times. I was there when himself and the Big Show had a face-off. Shaq is considerably taller, which I don’t think Big Show was so happy about. He’s a big, big man, and very charismatic.”

“If he didn’t get into basketball, he definitely would have succeeded in the world of WWE. One-hundred percent, based on the size alone. He would have been a heck of a WWE Superstar — a spectacle — like an Andre the Giant, but add on that personality on top of it? That’s box office.”

We won’t have to wait too long to see that Shaquille O’Neal can do in the ring, as the NBA legend is going to be teaming with fellow AEW debutant Jade Cargill to take on Red Velvet and Cody Rhodes on the March 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.

We actually saw Shaquille O’Neal wrestle for WWE at the WrestleMania 32 event in 2016 when he was part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. However, he never had a singles or tag match for the company.
