Major WWE Star Crying Backstage At WrestleMania

It has been revealed that a major WWE star was crying backstage at WrestleMania not long before their own title match.

Rhea Ripley’s Raw Women’s Championship victory at WrestleMania 37 was an emotional moment. The new titleholder has revealed that Edge was in tears for her, by the time she had made it backstage.

Speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Ripley mentioned that she found the huge victory overwhelming. Realising that she had achieved her dreams, Ripley was trying not to cry as she walked back through the curtain.

Explaining that Edge had tears in his eyes when she saw him, Ripley admitted that the crying Hall of Famer was enough to set her off.

Here is the full quote:

“It was crazy walking through the curtain and seeing the crowd and how excited they were. All my dreams were coming true. It was something I worked toward for a long time. I was trying to hold it all together, telling myself, ‘Don’t cry.’

“Then I looked over to Edge near me, and he had tears in his eyes. He nodded at me and winked. I just lost it. I could not hold it together. Then I saw this fan in the front saying, ‘Hey Rhea! You got this. You’re going to kill it’ — giving me this pep talk. Next thing I know, I’m being shown on the big screen.”

Edge would main event the second night of WrestleMania, challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship alongside Daniel Bryan. Reigns won the match, dominantly pinning both Edge and Bryan at the same time.

Rhea Ripley has recently opened up about Vince McMahon congratulating her performance. After her title victory, the chairman told Ripley that she did a great job.

Ripley and Belair returned to NXT last night to celebrate their WrestleMania successes.
