A major WWE star and former World Champion has said that he doesn’t respect CM Punk after Punk called him out on social media recently.
To recap, Punk sent out the following tweet regarding the current Black Lives Matter movement:
“Lotta people snitching on themselves. When people tell you who they are, believe it. Might be unfortunate and disappointing if you’re a fan of that person, or if it’s your grandmother, but f**k ‘em. Good bye! (I yield my time, f**k you.)”
A Twitter user replied to that with a comment about how AJ Styles hadn’t used his platform to spread messages about equality but instead promote his own livestreams, implying he wasn’t getting behind the movement. CM Punk responded to that by writing (in a now deleted tweet):
“Well. Come on. That one has been obvious for years.”
Speaking with the Times of India, Styles was asked for his reaction to Punk’s comments. He said:
“I will not react at all coming from a guy that I don’t [have] any respect [for] anyway. It doesn’t really matter. Look, my job as a performer is to perform and get the mind off all the things that have happened throughout the world. I am not going to react to people saying ridiculous and stupid things.”
