It was recently reported that WWE Raw star Riddle was offered a new contract. Now, it has been confirmed that he has been re-signed to a contract extension.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting new details regarding Riddle’s contract. The report confirms that he signed a new deal with the company last week. WWE officials were hoping he would re-sign before the end of the calendar year.
It had been previously reported that Riddle’s original deal was set to expire in August 2021. This would be three years after he signed his first deal in August 2018.
The report also states that Riddle was made an offer and did not seem interested. Since then, new terms have been brought forward for the deal. This must have made things more interesting as Riddle signed the new contract.
The report does not state how long of an extension Riddle’s deal is. However, WWE have been very conscious of stars leaving to go to other promotions of late and have been offering longer deals to get talent to stay with the company.
The current reported plan is for Riddle to challenge Bobby Lashley for the U.S. title at the Royal Rumble.
