It has been reported that Daniel Bryan has been sitting in on creative team meetings for the last few months on SmackDown, and been working to push lesser-used talent such as Big E, Chad Gable and Drew Gulak.
However, it seems like Daniel Bryan also wants to see the SmackDown roster freshened up with some additions from NXT, as has been reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
Bryan in particular with his role in creative has been pushing to bring in more NXT talent to Smackdown to freshen things up but the counter has been the track record of everyone brought up in the last two years from NXT and how Vince ends up losing interest in them and that there is a roster full of guys who could be used that aren’t even on television now.
It has been reported that NXT star Damian Priest was supposed to be called up to the main roster last week before the idea was rejected by Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns, it’s unclear whether Daniel Bryan was behind this idea too.
