Malakai Black Helped Plan WWE Hall Of Famers’ Major Match

Former WWE star Malakai Black (Aleister Black) has revealed that he helped Shawn Michaels plan his return match at Crown Jewel in 2018.

At the Saudi Arabia show, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and Triple H teamed up to face The Undertaker and Kane. This was Michaels’ first match since losing the Streak vs Career match at WrestleMania XXVI in 2010.

Malakai Black has now noted that he helped Michaels put together the match. Speaking on a Twitch stream, Black explained that doing so made him feel like he was on his level, saying:

“Sitting down and helping Shawn Michaels put together parts of his match in Saudi Arabia and watching it on TV and they are using parts of things that I opted to do. Those are things where you feel like you’re on par with them.”

Michaels hasn’t wrestled since his Crown Jewel bout. He currently acts as a producer for the NXT and NXT UK brands.

Black was released by WWE on June 2. He made a surprise appearance for AEW at their Road Rager special, before officially signing with the promotion.

Opening up about his past, Black recently discussed his mental health struggles, explaining how his depression previously impacted his creativity.
