He could have sold it on eBay for more than that. The man who found the AEW Championship at the side of the road has been given a small reward for his troubles.
Shortly after he won the AEW Championship against Hangman Page at All Out, Chris Jericho headed to the Longhorn Steakhouse and promptly had his title belt stolen by an unknown fiend.
It still isn’t clear whether this is all a work, but if it is, they’re really leaning into it.
Tallahassee resident Frank Price is the man who found and returned the title, and he has now spoken out about his discovery.
Speaking to Tallahassee Democrat, Price revealed that he found a velvet bag in the middle of a turn lane near Capital Circle Southwest, but didn’t open it until he got home.
“At that time there was nothing in the news about anything being lost or stolen. So we thought it was just a replica or a costume or something like that.”
Price gave his thoughts on what he thought might have happened, and he’s one sassy fella.
“I think what happened is they just set it on the trunk of the limo and it just fell off. The only other possibility is that it was part of a pro-wrestling plot setup. They need all the publicity they can get.”
Ouch. Anyway, at least he can buy something nice with his reward.
