Mandy Rose has revealed exactly how her current storyline with Otis, Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville came to be, including who pitched the idea to Vince McMahon.
Speaking with TV Series Hub, Rose commented on how her relationship with Otis started when they were both in NXT, and she enjoyed it so much she herself pitched to McMahon to turn it into an on-screen angle.
“Otis always was around in NXT and posting pics of me and talking about how much he liked me. In a cute way, not a creepy way. This continued on and I thought it would be great if this became a storyline, especially once Otis entered Wrestlemania. I actually went to Vince McMahon myself and pitched the idea and he loved it.”
Rose was also interviewed by Comic Book, in which she elaborated more on how the story has played out, saying:
“We didn’t really know that it was going to be this huge, and it’s really awesome and I’m really grateful and happy about it. But I really didn’t expect it to be this crazy and such a positive story. And I think in these times too, it’s nice to see such a happy ending for our fans and be able to perform and be able to demonstrate that. So yes, it’s just really cool.”
This past Friday night on SmackDown, Rose and Sonya Deville’s friendship dissolved and it looks like the next step is a mixed tag match with Rose & Otis vs. Deville & Dolph Ziggler.
The match hasn’t been confirmed for a particular date, but it could very much take place on the Money in the Bank pay-per-view if the angle continues to stay as hot as it has been with viewers.
