It’s being reported that there are expected to be “many” NXT call-ups made during the imminent WWE Draft that takes place in a few days’ time.
The WWE Draft will begin this coming Friday on SmackDown, and conclude on next Monday’s episode of Raw, and an update has now been provided regarding the plans for it.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“From what I was told today, USA and FOX do know a few things, like the key guys. So the key guys are decided. Nothing else is decided, everything can change.
“Right now, NXT is supposed to be – there’s supposed to be people drafted from NXT to freshen up both brands. The person who told me that also said, ‘This can also change completely tomorrow’, but they’re under the impression there will many people from NXT, and the NXT guys are supposed to be a significant part of it.”

NXT has of course undergone a rebranding as of late, and with the focus shifting to younger talent and more of an actual ‘developmental’ feel, the shakeup will likely include some of the veterans being moved on to either Raw or SmackDown.
Aliyah was actually called up in “exhange” for Mandy Rose months ago but she hasn’t debuted on TV yet, so she could be one of those names. Others that have worked dark matches regularly so seem in line for call-ups include Dakota Kai and Austin Theory.
