AEW Name Believes An All-Women’s Show Is Possible AEW

Maria Kanellis has commented on the possibility of AEW holding an all-women’s event.

Several top promotions have held cards to showcase their women’s divisions, including WWE with Evolution in 2018, and NWA with EmPowerrr in 2021.

While women’s division matches have headlined numerous AEW events, there hasn’t yet been a televised AEW card featuring solely female competitors.

Since the promotion was founded, there has been speculation that AEW will one day introduce a women’s only TV brand.

Speaking with Steve Fall of Ten Count, Maria Kanellis, who previously worked closely with the ROH women’s division, noted that she thinks this is possible.

Explaining why she’d be concerned about another AEW show being introduced, Kanellis said:

“Is there a possibility because of the amount of talent that they have in AEW to have an all-women’s show? Of course. I think they’re more than capable of doing so.

“But, you’ve got to look at it from a perspective of bandwidth. How much can you put out there right now on the AEW side when you’re trying to take care of all of AEW’s brands plus Ring of Honor.”

AEW currently has two women’s division titles. Jamie Hayter has held the AEW Women’s Championship since defeating Toni Storm for the gold at Full Gear 2022.

Jade Cargill has been the TBS Champion since winning the tournament for the gold in January 2022. She is now the longest reigning champion in AEW history.
