Scrapped plans for another AEW star to appear on Monday’s (June 27) episode of WWE Raw have been revealed.
On the show, a number of notable names made cameo appearances in video messages celebrating 20 years of John Cena, including AEW’s Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight (Big Show) and Chris Jericho.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE also contacted AEW about a Mark Henry video for the episode.
The video was reportedly recorded ahead of the show. There was no word on why Henry’s appearance wasn’t featured on the live broadcast.
The report also revealed that interim WWE Head of Talent Relations Bruce Prichard had reached out to AEW President Tony Khan about these videos. You can read more about the origins of these AEW-WWE appearances right here.
Prichard is currently acting as the Head of Talent Relations with John Laurinaitis taking a leave of absence amidst allegations that you can read full details on at this link.
Stephanie McMahon has also assumed the positions of interim CEO and Chairwoman, after Vince McMahon voluntarily stepped away from these roles.
Monday’s edition of Raw was the brand’s go-home show before Saturday’s Money in the Bank event. Check out the updated card for this weekend’s premium live event right here.
