WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW announcer Mark Henry has a keen eye for talent in the wrestling business, having been around it for over 20 years.
Henry famously discovered both current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and current AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill, helping both women get tryouts with WWE.
Henry recently spoke to Sportskeeda, where he discussed the two women, claiming that both of them are ‘the future of wrestling’.
He said:
“I think both will [be the future of professional wrestling]. I mean you have one that has main-evented WrestleMania already, the biggest wrestling spectacle in the world. And then you have another one that is almost 30 wins in a row and is on pace to be one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. So I think I’m doing pretty good when I pick. So it’s the same with the men. There are some guys that I have looked at, and I knew they would be special, and they are. And that is having a good eye for talent but also the work ethic. Like I have to see you work like you don’t have talent. That is what I require, and the people have listened.”
Bianca is set to defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Sonya Deville at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash event.
Cargill is set for an impending clash with Marina Shafir for the TBS Championship on this week’s (April 22) episode of AEW Rampage.
