Mark Henry Wants WNBA Star To Join AEW

Mark Henry has discussed the future of a WNBA talent, arguing that the star could become the Andre the Giant of AEW’s women’s division.

Henry believes the current AEW women’s locker-room has huge potential, recently comparing Jade Cargill to AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.

On the AEW Unrestricted podcast, the World’s Strongest Man revealed that he thinks Australian basketball player Liz Cabage could be a huge wrestling star. Pointing out a gap in the market, Henry said:

“There is one that is retiring from the WNBA this year after the Olympics. Liz Cambage. She is from Australia. 6 foot 7 basketball player, extremely athletic, but you can’t teach her size. There hasn’t been a woman be a giant in the business in a long, long, long time and I think that she can be a talent that we will talk about the way that we talked about Andre (the Giant).”

Cabage currently holds the WNBA single-game scoring record, scoring 53 points against New York Liberty in 2018.

She has been successful in international competition, winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games, a silver in the 2018 World Cup and a gold in the 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the Australian national team.

Cabage was set to compete during the Tokyo Olympics but withdrew from the team in July due to mental health concerns.

Henry will be an analyst for AEW Rampage when the show launches next month. During the July 28 Fight for the Fallen show, a huge AEW Rampage special was announced for August 20, in Chicago.
