In a post on Facebook today, Marko Stunt revealed he was apparently really, really nervous before his AEW Dynamite debut. Stunt filled in for the injured Luchasaurus on Wednesday night’s show.
“In a very unfortunate situation, Luchasaurus was injured just 2 hours before the show, and they asked me to step in. The most nervous and uncomfortable I’ve been was right there at that moment. I was being asked to step in the ring with two of the best on 2 hours notice, on national television, for my tv debut.”
2 hours notice? Apparently, it was just luck that he was even in the building.
“I wasn’t originally supposed to be there this week. Luckily, for some reason, they asked me to come in this past Friday, and I was going to be on AEW Dark this coming Tuesday.”
Marko and Jungle Boy pulled off a really good match considering the circumstances. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy have been teaming together for a while now.
Marko was able to step in and make it look like it was the plan all along.
“Despite any of that, myself and Jungle Boy went out there and gave it our all, and we hung with, quite possibly, the best tag team out there. We proved why we belong,”
Of course several people have taken to Twitter today to criticize him over his size and stature. However, Dave Meltzer has come to his defense.
You do realize Rey Mysterio had to put up with that in every company he worked for at first, and he's a real-life Hall of Famer today. https://t.co/Mz4jGkPdk7

It’s 2019, guys of all sizes can get over. One thing’s for sure, AEW is going to give anyone who can get over with the crowd a chance to shine on their show.
