The match to crown inaugural AEW Champions has now been determined following the return of an absent star on tonight’s Dynamite.
Over the past few weeks, a tournament has been taking place to determine the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions, with eight teams facing off for the right to be champion.
The finals of the tournament will take place next week on AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming, with Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale defeating Julia Hart and Skye Blue to advance to the final on last week’s show.
The second semi-final took place on tonight’s Dynamite, with Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa facing off against Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in a Hardcore Holiday Death Match, a stipulation chosen by Toni after her and Mina’s victory at Full Gear.
During the match, a man dressed as Santa Claus came to the ring with a present for Toni Storm, with her being gifted the shoe, which she used to defeat Marina and advance to next week’s tournament final.
Santa Claus turned out to be the returning Luther, the butler of Toni Storm, who had been off AEW television for a number of months.
It's San-LUTHER CLAUS!
