Matt Cardona WWE 2K26 Update

Matt Cardona WWE 2K26 Update WWE

With his recent return, the possibility of Matt Cardona appearing in the WWE 2K26 video game has been addressed by his wife Chelsea Green.

Ahead of an as-yet-unannounced release later this year, some details for the new game have emerged, with the WWE 2K26 Showcase Mode reportedly themed around CM Punk, having featured The Bloodline in WWE 2K25.

Now that Matt Cardona is back in WWE, Chelsea Green was recently asked about the possibility of the former Zack Ryder being featured in the game.

Speaking to GAMINGbible, Green shared her hope that her real-life husband could feature, though noted that the developers may not be able to deliver, saying:

“Ok, so I would absolutely love that. I could see that happening. Matt still has a very similar move-set from his previous stint in WWE as Zack Ryder. So maybe they (the Visual Concepts developers) can alter his character model, his gear and name, but everything else is really the same.

“I was recently at the 2K studios in California to do my motion capture and some new moves, and one of those moves added to my arsenal was Matt’s ‘Rough Ryder’ finisher. That was exciting. But I don’t know if the developers will be able to get him in the game quickly enough.”

As Zack Ryder, Matt Cardona was last a roster member in the WWE 2K20 video game, released in October 2019 and developed by Visual Concepts.

Green isn’t the only WWE star to have apparent involvement in WWE 2K26, with a recent Logan Paul Vlog revealing a scratch design to the game logo.

Beyond WWE, it was recently reported that AEW’s Kenny Omega has done motion capture for the character of Alex in the Street Fighter 6 video game.
