Former WWE star Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) appears to have shot down rumors regarding a potential WWE return.
A number of released names have made their way back to WWE under the Triple H regime. Most recently, Emma (Tenille Dashwood) returned to WWE TV on the October 28 edition of SmackDown, answering Ronda Rousey’s open challenge.
Following reports that WWE is interested in bringing Chelsea Green back, some speculated that we could soon see Green and her husband Cardona on either Raw or SmackDown soon.
Cardona has indicated that this won’t be the case, arguing that his WWE persona, Zack Ryder, is dead.
When asked on Twitter if he’d be interested in returning to WWE, Cardona replied:
“Zack Ryder is dead. Long live Matt Cardona!”
Cardona Then clarified that he is grateful for his time in WWE. When a Twitter user argued that nobody would know who he is without Zack Ryder, Cardona tweeted:
“You’re right. I’m very grateful for that time of my life. But it’s over.”
Cardona had previously admitted that he still dreams about possibly becoming WWE Champion in the future, but stated that he wasn’t trying to go back to WWE.
