Matt Cardona has shared his first comments following his WWE in-ring return, addressing his match loss.
The former “Zack Ryder” returned to a WWE ring on October 14, competing on NXT against Josh Briggs.
While Briggs was ultimately victorious,Matt Cardona has taken to social media to note that overall, the night was a win for him.
Sharing a photo from his NXT appearance to Instagram, Cardona wrote:
Thank you…
I may have lost the match, but tonight was a win.
I’ll never quit…and I’m ALWAYZ READY.

Cardona’s match with Josh Briggs was his first WWE bout in five years. His last WWE match prior to this saw him lose to Bobby Lashley on the March 9, 2020 Raw episode.
Matt Cardona was released from his WWE contract that April.
