Matt Hardy Addresses Upcoming WWE Return & Title Match

Matt Hardy has addressed the upcoming WWE return of The Hardys, as they compete in a Winner Takes All championship match.

The match marks the first time that Matt & Jeff Hardy have been seen in the WWE ring since Roadblock in March, which saw them successfully retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship against Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom).

At WWE Showdown on October 7, the title will once again be on the line, with The Hardys compete in a Winner Takes All match against NXT Tag Team Champions, DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin).

Addressing their upcoming return to WWE, and the match itself, Matt Hardy stated that he and Jeff “need the NXT titles”, tweeting:

“Next week on #WWENXT, it’s gonna be Title vs Title. The Hardy Boyz versus Dark State with both the NXT & TNA Tag Team Titles on the line.

“We NEED the NXT Titles. Don’t miss this.

“Nothing stops the Hardy Train.

“NOTHING.”

Jeff Hardy has also previously stated that the NXT Tag Team Championship is on his “list of things to accomplish.”

Elsewhere on the card for WWE Showdown, the NXT North American Championship will be on the line with Ethan Page defending against Mustafa Ali.

Team NXT will go up against Team TNA, with representatives from both the men’s and women’s roster taking part in two Survivor Series-style matches.
