After teasing the move for weeks, Matt Hardy finally made his AEW debut last night. Dynamite came to a close with Vangaurd-1 descending into the ring as Matt Jackson revealed the Elite’s final Blood and Guts participant.
Hardy was then shown watching from the rafters and the show faded to black. Now, he has commented on his debut.
Cody had put out a tweet welcoming Hardy to the promotion, to which Hardy replied:
Thank you. I am very honored & proud to join @AEWrestling, a company that takes great pride in listening & respecting their loyal audience.
Excited to CHANGE THE WORLD with you.

“Thank you, I am very honored & proud to join [AEW], a company that takes great pride in listening & respecting their loyal audience. Excited to CHANGE THE WORLD with you.”
Hardy’s WWE contract expired at the end of February. Prior to leaving the company, he had been on the receiving end of a pair of beatings from Randy Orton. Orton had hit him with con-chair-tos on back-to-back episodes of Raw, leaving Hardy in a neck brace.
During his beatings, Hardy produced a YouTube series called Free The Delete. As soon as his WWE contract expired, Hardy invited the Young Bucks to his house to help him. The show ended with his vessel being saved and Hardy departing for a new home.
Now, he will be involved in next week’s Blood and Guts match.
