Matt Hardy Gives Advice To Fans About Cody Rhodes Leaving AEW AEW

When you’ve had a long and storied career like Matt Hardy, you get used to the wild world of professional wrestling.

Recently speaking with Bleacher Report about a variety of things, including his future return to the ring alongside his brother Jeff, and Matt Hardy was asked about the recent departure of one of the AEW originals, Cody Rhodes.

Matt Hardy wished Rhodes well, noting:

“Cody’s obviously one of the forefathers of AEW: him, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. They were kind of the guys that were leading the charge as far as creating AEW and they got with Tony Khan and he made things happen and made AEW a reality. It’s going to be really interesting and I wish Cody the best in whatever he ends up doing, but it’s going to be very weird not having him around in AEW. I’m sure whatever he ends up doing, he’ll kill it and be great at it.”

While the rumors continue to swirl that Rhodes is WWE bound, Matt Hardy notes that in this wild world, you can always expect the unexpected noting:

“I’m at that point now where anything can happen. It’s pro wrestling and we kind of control our own destinies. Don’t ever be surprised because anything can happen in this wild industry.”

Cody Rhodes re-joining the WWE universe continues to be teased on television and online by WWE although no official announcement has been made. Reportedly Rhodes is planning to re-sign with WWE and be featured heavily in an upcoming program, potentially setting up a major match at WrestleMania.

This week on Monday Night Raw, promos by both The Miz and Edge seemed to drop hints at the impending return of Rhodes. The speculation seems to be yielding results as Monday night’s ratings were up overall.
