AEW Star Shares Thoughts On The Bloodline WWE

AEW and former WWE star Matt Hardy has offered his thoughts on WWE’s Bloodline stable and Roman Reigns’ heel turn.

Hardy most recently departed WWE on March 2 2020, after returning to the company for a second time in 2017 back at WrestleMania 33, where he and Jeff won the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Reigns main evented that show, defeating the Undertaker to much fan backlash, coming at the height of Reigns’ run as a rejected top babyface.

Reigns has since found a new spark as the heel Tribal Chief, reigning as the WWE Universal Champion for over two years and counting.

Speaking on the most recent episode of his podcast The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, the former Hardy Boy explained by he believes Reigns’ heel turn has been successful:

“Yeah, I think it’s been really good. I honestly believe the biggest difference in being successful as a top draw as a heel nowadays is the fans because they just understand better. It’s kind of been whittled down to a smaller niche of pro wrestling fans, and they really get what’s going on.

“I remember Vince was so hesitant for so many years to turn Roman into a heel. Roman as the top babyface, which he was being pushed and promoted as during that time, I knew whenever they decided to turn him heel, because fans were already booing, they were ready and it was gonna be easy to do, and all it was gonna do ultimately was make him into a much bigger star.”

Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against YouTube star Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5.
