Though Matt Hardy has announced his retirement from the ring, it seems he’s not finished with WWE. The WWE Network has begun filming on a special featuring Matt, Jeff, and the Hardy family.
It was speculated that the project may be a documentary, like the recent episode of 24 which focused on the return of Matt and Jeff Hardy through TNA up to their WrestleMania 33 return.
However, judging by a tease from the company, a sitcom taking place in the Broken Universe appears more likely.
The pitch, raised earlier this month, had the following description:
House Hardy: Halloween special – Go inside the WONDERFUL world of the Hardy family in this delightful short form scripted sitcom, featuring Matt and Jeff Hardy!
For his part, Matt Hardy hinted at the preparation of the compound for guests. (All in-character, of course.)
And also prepare the Battlefield for MASSACRE.. if needed.

Matt’s use of #HouseHardy and the late-September start to filming all point to the Halloween special getting the green light.
We can expect Reby, Maxel, Wolfgang Señor Benjamin, and Brother Nero to all feature somewhat. Furthermore, the Halloween setting seems like the perfect start for a Broken Matt Hardy sitcom.
Though the WWE Network has not announced further plans, a successful pilot for House Hardy could lead to a recurring series.
